Welcome / Page-a-mod.
This community will be hosting haikuathons on a semi-regular basis for small and large fandoms alike.

The general format will be as follows:

º Prompts collected (for those who wish to use them; prompts will be optional)
º Master posts made
º Haiku posted as comments in response to master post
º Comments organized and indexed at the haikuathon del.icio.us account, along with a round-up post to the community detailing how the round went

They will be held in the style of the previous two small fandom rounds (hosted at trascendenza) here:

Round 01: http://trascendenza.livejournal.com/tag/challenge:+small+fandom+haikuathon:+01 (or the master post)
Round 02: http://trascendenza.livejournal.com/tag/challenge:+small+fandom+haikuathon:+02 (or the master post)

Currently, I’m looking for co-mods and anyone willing to help out with things like tagging/memorying/bookmarking to del.icio.us/assembling lists of links/spreading the word about the rounds. Do drop a comment here or shoot me an e-mail (trascendenza[at]livejournal[dot]com) if you’d be willing to help out.

Also, if you have any questions related to the haikuahons at all or would like to affiliate, also feel free to drop a comment here. This doubles as the page-a-mod post. :)

Oh, how exciting! I had great fun at the last haiku-a-thon. I'd be willing to help out. Could maybe make some art and I'm up for tagging/bookmarking/etc.

Awesome! If/when you want to know more specifics about art, lemme know :) And as soon as I put up prompt posts for the next rounds, I'll contact those who are up for bookmarking with the password for the account and all of us can discuss how we'd like to coordinate that.

You know I always do, but I was planning again to help you get the news out. let me know if you have some idea beyond standard pimpage.
trascendenzatrascendenza on October 29th, 2007 01:27 am (UTC)
Because you are wonderful. *hugs* In terms of going beyond pimping at our journals, I'm mainly thinking of announcing at communities for small fandoms--I was going to try and hit up the ones that I know, and some fandom newsletters that will post about multi-fandom challenges.
Bloody Jack Flint: Kagome rhye on October 29th, 2007 01:55 am (UTC)
Yeah, ok, sure. I'm not in as many fandoms as you, eek! But besides Brokeback I have... three small fandoms. Let me know when I should pimp there?
trascendenzatrascendenza on October 29th, 2007 02:00 am (UTC)
Well, you have choices--you can pimp the prompt post when it goes up, or pimp the actual master haiku post when that goes, or both if it wouldn't be spamming. Depending on the place and whether or not I know I'm going to come up with prompts myself, I usually mention that there will be some prompts for the specific fandom included when I post links to the master post.

Sent you a PM about this :)

I just had a random question come to mind... not that I'll actually do this, but in case I want to... What if a haiku I write is adult in nature? How would we go about posting that? Should I just label it as adult somehow, or would I need to refrain from posting it altogether? (I can't remember how this was handled last time, lol!)
trascendenzatrascendenza on November 16th, 2007 01:52 am (UTC)
Oh, we've had adult ones posted before and I just figured that people would skim past if they didn't want to read them. I'll probably only require that they're labeled if it becomes an issue.

Sounds good to me! :)

By the by, I just now saw your reply to me about the graphics! I hate that I'm so late on that, but would you still like for me to make buttons and banners for linking? What would you like on them? If you want, you can give me a semi-vague overview as a guide. And I'm still up for making a top banner if you want something nature-esque, or even something different I could whip up! Just let me know. :D

I just pimped out the haikuathon on my LJ, and realized there is no banner to link with! I'm glad someone has the skills to make one (I'm useless), it's definitely needed to get this comm some well-deserved attention. ^_^

BTW, *LOVE* your icon. :p Gods, he's right. *facepalm* O_o

BTW, Sheera, would you like me to pimp this out on a few of the Heroes slash comms? I already pimped it at worlds_finest, and will probably pimp it at superman_return.

Oh, that would be fantastic! I never have time to get around to all the applicable communities, so any help at all in that area is hugely appreciated :D Thank you so much for the help :)

No problem! ^_^

Since the need for banners has been voiced... here we go... :D

Small: 100x35

Medium: 300x100

Large: 468x60

Still mulling over what to do for a top banner... Let me know if these are okay! :)
trascendenzatrascendenza on November 17th, 2007 11:44 pm (UTC)
OH, FANTASTIC. <3

I'll re-up these soon and make a post with them and do all the coding and stuff so people can just copy and paste. I think kaizoku may be working on a few, too, so I may wait until those are ready.

Oh, you may want to hold off on the top banner. The layout will probably go through a few phases before a final one's decided because I'm so anal retentive about layouts once I get started, so I have no idea what size it'll end up needing. And I'm still trying to decide if it would be misleading to have pretty nature imagery or not, since we don't really write much traditional haiku here, hmmm. But I'm not sure what exactly would be multi-fannishly inclusive, either, because we could never really fit images from all the featured fandoms in. *head starts to hurt*

And if you wanted more ideas for text, I may have a few more, or if you were inspired to do some Heroes-specific ones we could totally use them. :) No pressure, though, because these are great and I know I'll be using one of them very soon :D

I'm so glad you like them, and if you need/want anything else, just say so! :D
